Welcome to the world of 'Boots'  

"I recently had the opportunity of meeting a special lady called Kip Caley who is an inspiration to us all. She was faced with some serious health issues and found a creative way to deal with it.  I will let Kip tell you her story" Deb Humphreys

It is not easy to accept the radical effect that ovarian cancer can have on your life.  After two operations and three treatments of chemotherapy, I needed to find a treatment to help me through the difficult times.  I have always loved the written word and enjoyed reading to my children and grandchildren.  This and my need to keep myself occupied gave me the idea and inspiration for 'My Boots Books'.

The 6 small 'Boots' stories contain ideas to charm, warm and engage young minds.  Parents wil find the stories 'easy to read'. The stories provide a deeper understanding of language to stimulate children's early reading skills.  I have given the 'Boots' character  loads of tenacity and perserverance so he can tackle all sorts of roles with enthusiasm.

Once I had written the stories, I was fortunate to acquire the talents of a 15 year-ol schoolgirl called Amy Bolton.  Her beautiful drawings brought my 'Boots' characters to life in a delightful way.  Amy's talent for illustration was later recognized, when her school held a special assembly and a showing of her 'Boots' drawings.  The pictures within each book are black and white line drawings.  Your children will enjoy colouring in their own special 'Boots' books to keep as mementos of their childhood.

In these books I wanted to express an easy, melodic rhythm of stories told in verse that would appeal to teachers and children whilst being fun stories for parents to read to their children.
